I've been working on Colin goes to Zobeland intermittently since 2003 and return to it periodically. Each time I spend a bit of time on it I usually end up embarking on a major rewrite of existing material.
In the past I've uploaded drafts of the work-in-progress after each major spurt of activity. However I decided to stop doing this in 2007 and to make an extract available here, as a bit of a taster.
I'd welcome any constructive suggestions on ways of improving this site, funding the completion of Colin goes to Zobeland, or anything else you think might be useful. Please let me know via the Alex Annesty Contact Page.
If you enjoy reading the extract of Colin goes to Zobeland, please tell anyone you think might like it too.
I've made several attempts to write a novel over the years and they've all previously failed to get going. The difference between earlier efforts and this one is that I didn't (and still don't) plan anything before commencing writing. I have no idea what's going to happen each time I write the next installment and most of the work is based on spontaneous ideas. I do have the occasional inspiration between writing sessions (not always at the most convenient times) and I jot these down for potential inclusion at an appropriate point. This makes the whole writing process extremely enjoyable and constantly surprising. I can't wait to find out what happens next and hope you feel the same way.
I record occasional breakthroughs and milestones on the Diary page.
